ABOUTUS
Calibre Conservation offers a range of services to meet the needs of architects, private clients, trusts and bodies. Working alongside business professionals, Calibre has successfully delivered projects in both the UK and abroad, providing cost effective solutions that added value and exceeded expectation. At Calibre, we work collaboratively with you, the client, from the preparation of conservation management plans to the completion of complex conservation projects. As principle contractor or specialist subcontractor, our specialist conservators ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standard.
SERVICES
APPROACH
Whist general periodic repairs are inevitable, in retaining and repairing the original fabric and using traditional materials, Calibre looks to sustain the integrity of the building and its inherent heritage values.
Calibre’s value-based conservation approach is guided by professional ethics, public policy and an in-depth understanding of the composition and performance of your specific structure. Proposed outcomes are substantiated through a logical and transparent process.
We employ appropriate techniques and materials. Where original materials are no longer available or appropriate, we only use compatible materials.
Our intervention maximises the life-expectancy of the building fabric, thereby, sustaining its historic and cultural significance.
If technically feasible and practicable, our intervention aims to be reversible or, at least, allowing further treatment should it be necessary.
All our projects are well documented, and reports are routinely provided to the client, both in digital form and hard copy.
HEALTH+SAFETY
Calibre maintains an exemplary health and safety record, remaining up-to-date with current statutory requirements. These include Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, and amendments covering a wide range of basic health, safety and welfare issues, including hazardous materials and working at heights. Calibre routinely prepares CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations 2015) reports, which consider appropriate health, safety and welfare requirements.
PEOPLE
Calibre Conservation's team of experienced conservators have all been employed in senior or advisory roles for leading conservation companies, and have worked on high profile projects, including those owned by Historic Royal Palaces, English Heritage and The National Trust, as well as other trusts, architects, local government authorities and private clients.
